Taiwan’s oldest broadcaster, the government-owned Voice of Han (www.voh.com.tw),
has again chosen Omnia audio processors to help craft their signature
sound. Headquartered in Taipei, the Voice of Han Radio Networks
broadcast news, music and educational programming to more than 22
million residents of Taiwan.
Seven Omnia-3fm Turbo audio processors, sold to Voice of Han through
Taipei-based Interactive Digital Technologies (www.idtech.com.tw),
will be used as part of the ongoing upgrade of their FM transmission
system, says IDT’s Moses Chen.
“Voice of Han previously purchased five Omnia-6fm processors for main
audio processing, and they are very happy with the quality of the
sound,” says Chen. “When they decided to upgrade their STL system, they
naturally chose Omnia again.”
Voice of Han’s original Omnia-6 units are in service as main audio
processing for VOH’s network program streams. The seven new Omnia-3fm
processors will be used at various transmitter and repeater sites for
final “sweetening”, says Chen.
Omnia-3fm Turbo is a 48 kHz, 24-bit audio processor with 3-band AGC,
adjustable 3-band over-sampled limiter, and a host of features that
might not be found in processors costing much more. Omnia-3fm Turbo has
won praise from broadcasters thanks to its unique, technologically
advanced multiband limiter, which employs a feedback configuration for
low and midbands and a feedforward design for high bands, resulting in
smooth, crystal-clear audio with amazing competitive loudness.
Omnia audio processing products are used by broadcast professionals in
more than 175 nations, including such well-known Pacific Rim
broadcasters as China’s Radio Beijing, the Korean Broadcasting System,
Hong Kong’s Commercial Radio in Hong Kong and Shiga, Japan’s Radio FM
Hikone. For a listing of representatives worldwide, visit
